Creating our future – a bioregional approach for the Ribble Valley

At the meeting we will discuss a bioregional approach to the development of a peaceful and sustainable Ribble Valley (the landscape, that is, not the Local Authority!). This bioregional approach encourages us to improve the connections between people and organisations through holding simple discussions. The aim is not to start yet another "movement", but to focus on connecting existing groups that are already doing good work and also individuals who may wish to join in.

Angus Soutar is convening the meeting and he says "My motivations for organising this event come from my experiences with bioregional mapping at community level and also my engagement with the recent political re-awakening in Scotland".

The meeting is open to all, including children, and we hope to contemplate the future in a fairly relaxed atmosphere. We will structure the evening to be conversational, and examine what is valuable to us in the region and what we would like to carry forward into the future.

There will be no charge for the event, but please bring some food to share, either for an evening meal or for snacks with tea and coffee.

Because of road access difficulties at the Barn, arrivals by car will rendezvous at Calderstones Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Visitors Car Park at 6.40pm, ready for a short walk through to the Barn. Information about location and travel
