Galloway's in Chorley

The venue for the course will normally be The Nest at Chorlleian House on St Thomas's Road, Chorley. Note: car parking is available in front of Chorleian House. If you arrive by car, you should park there (free all day!) However, the first day will be held at Galloway's Society for the Blind which close-by on the other side of St Thomas's Road. Galloway's is at 1 Farington Street, PR7 1DX

This is situated at the back of Chorley Police Station, a strikingly brutal version of 1970's architecture at the town end of St Thomas's Road (next to the magistrates court buildings). See Google Map (Picture below shows the side of the police station as you walk from the main road to Farrington Street.)

Directions: walking from Town Centre (bus and rail stations)

Go through the town centre and start along St Thomas's Road, go past the Police Station and turn right into Crown Street (immediately after the Police Station). Picture shows Crown Street junction (looking back towards St Thomas's Road)

Directions: arriving by car

Get onto St Thomas's Road, which is the A581 out of Chorley town centre toward Southport. Head for Chorleian House which is just past the Police Station as you drive away from the Town Centre. The picture shows Chorleian House on the left hand side of St Thomas's Road as you leave Chorley town centre. It's beyond the police station (on the opposite side of the road) and just past a bus stop. It is the home of The Nest, which is on the ground floor. There is free parking in front of the building.

Park here because parking is heavily restricted and monitored in this part of Chorley.

To get to Galloway's (first day only): Leave your car and cross St Thomas's Road, then turn to your right (walking towards the Police Station). Pass Springfield Road and Woodville Road on your left then take the next left into Crown Street. Farrington Street and Galloway's is ahead on your right (see photos above). The walk is very short, only a minute or two.
